Turns out there was a fire over the weekend at Eurovea, Ballymore’s landmark scheme in Bratislava. Fortunately, while it resulted in some pretty dramatic looking smoke, not only was no one injured, but the damage appears to have been minimal (€50,000 according to an official statement). This being the age of Internet, it’s easy enough to find videos of the action.
Those competing with the Irish giant to lease offices and sell flats may think it gives them an advantage. On the other hand, now everyone knows that when it really matters, the fire trucks actually get there six minutes after the call comes in.
Euroevea is due to open by next spring.
