ECM makes payment in time

ECM announced that it had made €1.1m in payments on coupons for bonds that mature in 2012. It’s good news, of course, but it begs the question of why it’s news. Did they almost miss the payment for example? Or are they just trying to make the point that some bond investors get paid interest, while others fight for pennies on the euro?
