Missed this last month, but better late than never in some cases. E-Profit ran an interview [in Slovak] in May with Roman Korbacka, (brother of Peter Korbacka of J&T Reality fame). In it, he talks about setting up his fund CEETA (Central and Eastern Europe Trophy Assets) and how acquiring City Tower in Prague from ECM was a crucial step for the company.
“It was an advantageous offer,” he says. “CEETA is about ‘trophy assets’. And that kind of trophy isn’t on sale very often. At the end of the day, it’s all about opportunities… Sometimes you can want to buy [an asset], but you simply don’t have a chance, because the owner understands its value.”
He also speak about his 20% holding in the Russian bank Nomos, saying it’s a purely passive position, and about the 30% stake in the same bank is held by Czech magnate Petr Kellner of PPF Group.
